Privacy and analytics

We use Microsoft Application Insights to understand site traffic, performance and errors. Server telemetry includes request counts, status codes and durations for the homepage and rankings API. Our server instrumentation does not send IP addresses, request headers, request bodies or query strings.

Your choice

If you accept analytics, Application Insights collects page views, anonymous browser and session identifiers, device information and interactions such as selected modes, levels and specializations. Microsoft Clarity also collects click and scroll heatmaps and session replays to help us improve the interface. We do not send the text you type into the spec search as an analytics event. Search fields are masked for replay.

You can decline without losing any site features. Choose “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change your choice. Analytics cookies are used only after acceptance; your preference is stored locally for up to 180 days. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals prevent automatic browser tracking.

Storage and access

Analytics dashboards are available only to the site owner's authorized Microsoft accounts. Application Insights uses a workspace configured for 30-day retention. Clarity retention follows Microsoft's service settings and policies. Counts may exclude visitors who decline, block tracking or clear cookies; anonymous browser identifiers do not identify a real person.
